Treat time does not have to mean junk food time. So many biscuits out there are made entirely or nearly entirely of carbohydrates and other ingredients that simply do not bring a whole lot of nutritional value to the table. Pet parents are oftentimes feeding a very high-quality food, like Best Breed, only to then reward their best friend with very low quality biscuits. Best Breed biscuits use the same ingredients found in our foods which is why the biscuit ingredient panel reads very similarly to the ingredient panels found on our dry kibble food bags. They start with protein-packed meats followed by healthy grains and end with ingredients like fish oil, dried cranberries and dried blueberries.

Treats for good behavior or just because is a very special time between a dog and their person. We aim to make that experience guilt free by formulating a biscuit that is not only just as healthy as the food they feed everyday, but also complete and balanced. Why is this important? With each biscuit comes calories that should be taken into consideration of the dog’s daily caloric intake. If a hand full biscuits given as a treat are 100 calories, the amount of food fed that day should theoretically be reduced by 100 calories for maintaining proper body weight. By being complete and balanced, Best Breed biscuits ensure that the dog is getting all the essential nutrients needed when everyday food calories are being replaced with treat calories.
