Senior Dog Recipe (Reduced Calorie)

Our senior Maltese has been on a weight management diet for some time now. She gets regular exercise but she's less active than she used to be. This product is made with good ingredients and is made in the USA. These factors are very important to me because I value the health and well-being of our animal companions. Just as important is that she likes this dry dog food, and she definitely does. I feed it together with her wet dog food in appropriate serving proportions.

The ingredients are pretty good. This is a well made dog food for senior dogs. My only problem is that Athena isn't impressed. The other dogs love it though. Like with all dog foods, the key is finding the right high quality food that your dog likes. This could very well be the perfect food for your dog � two of my dogs love it!

I mixed this food with their regular food for a little variety so they don't get stuck in a dog food rut. They barely gave me time to set down their dishes before they were munching away happily. People say dogs don't smile but mine were after eating this food!

This is very good stuff. Ingredients are great and my dogs absolutely love this.

My dog really likes this brand and flavor. I love that it has glucosamine in it because I sometimes forget to give my dog her glucosamine treat. It also has fish oil and other ingredients for mobility and skin. She is a picky eater and won't eat all day if her food doesn't taste good. She really likes this.

Wow! I'm so excited that there is a decently healthy food for dogs at a decent price. I love that they offer a senior dog food! We have a 10 year old Husky who is at a great weight but had gained a few pounds in the last year. This brand gives us the option for something that suits her lifestyle needs now, and I love it! It's wheat free, which our dog is allergic to, so that's a plus. The pieces are small and circular and our dog gobbled it up. Would recommend!

Ordered this senior dog diet and a regular one. My dog is a senior and doesn't really like this one. Something in the food makes him less willing to eat it, but he loves the regular one. Go figure.

On days when our dog isn't active, we want to give him lower fat dog food, but it still has to be flavorful and overall healthy. It has chicken meal and brown rice, plus oatmeal, dried beet pulp for fiber, brewers dried yeast, flax seed, taurine and menhaden fish oil among other ingredients. Our dog is enthusiastic about eating this dry dog food and I recommend it.

I feel so bad when it comes to writing a review for dog food that has obviously been produced with a lot of care, yet my dog won't eat it. She's not normally a picky eater, but I think in old age pickiness is growing on her. She was a little finicky about this Best Breed Senior Dog Diet. I'm sure it's not the food's fault. It looks to be a quality, low-fat food for older dogs. Just don't ask my dog.

Dr. Gary�s Best Breed for senior dogs has great ingredients to help my dog as she ages. The small kibbles are easy for her to eat. She seemed to enjoy it and I like the nutrients.

I got this for my friend's dogs to supplement with their other food. All three dogs enthusiastically ate this. The food itself is small and round and made in the U.S.A. in Ohio. The ingredients are good, and I love that the bag has a zippered closure to ensure that the kibble stays fresh.

Dogs went wild for this food, they gobbled it up. Really good quality ingredients with lots of fruit and veggies, glucosamine and fiber. Comes in a small 4 lb bag, which is good to see if your dogs like it and to make sure it agrees with them. I do wish the 1st ingredient was chicken, not chicken meal. That is my only complaint, especially for the price. Otherwise top notch food. Great reduced calorie senior dog food.

Both of our dogs love it� and before the dogs came inside, the cat snuck over and started to snack on the food. Our senior Border Collie enjoyed the food and our middle-aged dog also gobbled it down. It's a USA-made product and we didn't notice any offensive smell. The dogs love this food, but the price tag is high.

Having Corgis with weight issues, I came across this natural and healthy food. It's one thing to say a food is natural, but it's another to do food right. There are some really good smaller food makers we can choose from that care about making a quality USA-made product. This seems like a high quality food.

This is the only dog food my dog can eat as she has a very sensitive stomach.

My dog enjoys this brand very much and the size of the dog pellets is fairly average. Holistic brand made with care and insight on your dog's health. I highly recommend this brand of dog food. Best Breed Senior Dog Diet is the first reduced calorie senior dog kibble I've tried feeding my girls. My oldest is a rescue estimated to be about 10.5 years old and a very picky eater. She was slow to start eating this kibble, but once she tasted one, she quickly started crunching away and finished the whole dish. My other rescue is about 5 or 6 years old and, while not a senior, is a foodie that has to constantly be watched. She is a bit overweight and always wants to eat. I had no doubts about her liking this kibble and hope that having it as a regular part of her diet will help control her weight. It�s a good choice for both seniors and foodies who might be a bit overweight.

My dog is not that fond of the taste, so I mix it with about half of his regular food and he is fine with it. This is a good brand with decent ingredients.

I like the ingredients, the fact that it is made to EU standards and has no corn, wheat or by-product meals. That's not to say it is grain free � which I wasn't looking for � just free of wheat and corn. Chicken is the primary protein. The dogs like this food and the kibble is about a medium size. The lower calories, sea mussels and glucosamine are also pluses for a senior dog. Beet pulp and tomato pomace also provide fiber.

All 5 pups agree, this is good food. I rescue and have to feed what's available, which makes for very adaptable pups, but there are some foods they just won't touch. We have a few variations of this dog food and the rescues adore it. Out of the three, this seemed to be the favorite. They can be picky at times but devoured it before I finished filling the bowl. The list of ingredients is good and it's extremely palatable. Even picky dogs like the taste. Pretty good.

Bought the low-fat senior plan for our diabetic mini-schnauzer, who was not eating his morning meal. It is imperative that he eats, as he cannot get his insulin shot without eating. For weeks we struggled with getting him to eat, using broth, baby food and wet food mixed with his dry prescription food. No avail. He simply hated the food. So imagine my joy when I put down his first serving of this food and he promptly ate it dry � without additives or coaxing. We are so happy. Now we can concentrate on getting his blood glucose levels correct and in timely fashion.
